Flat or T-rod: what's the difference?
A flat rod and a T-rod are two common ways of dividing an aluminium door with glass into several surfaces. They give the glass and the door a specific look and largely determine the style of the door.

What is a flat rod?
Flatter rods give doors and walls a modern and minimalist look. Because the rod is only 30 millimetres narrow and flat, it barely interrupts the glass and allows plenty of light to pass through. This makes it a good choice for those who want clean lines without the rods making the room look too modern. Flat rods look especially good in clean, modern interiors.

What is a T-rod?
A T-rod gives a door a slightly more robust look, as it divides the glass into planes. Such a rod is the same as a flat rod, but has a raised edge, making it a T-rod.
This type of rod gives your door or wall more depth, while still allowing enough light to fall through the glass. T-rods are useful if you want to emphasise the layout of the glass. They give the door more character and can also provide a more classic look.

Stylish interior differences
Both rods have a lot of impact on how a door complements the space. A flat rod blends in nicely. This is ideal for a modern interior where simplicity is key.
A T-bar emphasises the tessellation more strongly, making the interplay of lines more present. This gives the door a more powerful appearance that suits a classic or robust interior.
Which rod suits your interior?
The choice between a flat rod and a T-rod strongly depends on your living style. Are you going for a calm and modern look? Then a flat rod fits better.
Instead, do you want the tessellation to have more emphasis and add a bit more character? Then a T-rod is often the best option.
