Do you choose a single or double pivot door?

For smaller passages, a single steel pivot door is often sufficient. Does your house have wider openings or are you not looking for a standard door? Then a double pivot door with or without side panels is a better choice. Both variants are equally functional and are of course made to fit exactly.

So why aluminium doors? More explanation

Why a pivot door

The advantages of an aluminium pivot door

Hinge mechanism

Hinge mechanism pivot door

An aluminium pivot door is a stylish door. It is easy to use. Thanks to the hinge mechanism in the floor, the door turns both ways, ensuring a smooth passage. Because the door is mounted in a tightly finished opening, the whole look is sleek and modern.

Aluminium profile

Aluminium profile

The aluminium profile is light and strong, allowing the door to open and close effortlessly. The design looks sleek and modern, and fits well with an interior with lots of glass and light. A pivot door opens to both sides, making it extra comfortable to use.

Softclose system

Thanks to the softclose system the door closes automatically and silently, without falling shut hard. This makes this door both stylish and practical in rooms that are heavily used.

What does a steel pivot door cost?

We only deliver custom-made products in our own factory in Nunspeet. The price therefore varies per project. The final cost depends mainly on the dimensions of the frame, the layout of the profiles and the choice of specific handles.

The type of glass and the finish of the aluminium also play a role in the price calculation. Design your own door in the configurator and get an instant quote. Or request a free quote to.

What glass thickness do you use?

At Aluwdoors we use for all interior doors standard laminated safety glass with a thickness of six millimetres. We deliberately choose laminated glass instead of tempered glass, because laminated glass does not fall apart into thousands of pieces in the event of a breakage, but stays together neatly thanks to the film between the glass panes. This makes the doors extra safe.

Choose from different glass options, such as clear glass, smoked glass or milk glass, so the door will always suit the light and privacy you want in your space.

Are pivot doors suitable for use with underfloor heating?

In many cases, a pivot door is suitable in combination with underfloor heating. This is because we only need to drill one centimetre deep into the floor. Whether pivot doors are possible depends on the way the underfloor heating is installed.

With milled-in underfloor heating, the underfloor heating is often a bit higher, which can sometimes make it difficult to place the pivot mechanism safely. Do you doubt whether your floor is suitable? Our specialists will be happy to check with you.

What colours of steel pivot doors are available?

Your pivot door is delivered in any RAL colour, e.g. black, white, gold, bronze and anthracite. At our own spray-paint shop in Nunspeet, we provide the aluminium profiles with a strong powder coating. As a result, the coating layer is not only even, but also very easy to maintain and resistant to daily use.

Although deep black (RAL 9005) with a fine texture is the most commonly chosen colour, we are also increasingly seeing requests for bronze or gold tones, but also for white doors. Because we coat everything in-house, we ensure that the hardware and profiles are exactly the same colour for a calm and clean look.

Does a steel pivot door require adjustments to skirting or the doorway?

In some cases, minor adjustments to the skirting boards or the door opening are required to fit a steel pivot door correctly. Because the door is mounted in the floor and ceiling (without using a frame), the recess must be completely finished.
Skirting boards that get in the way when turning the door are often shortened or adjusted. Our craftsmen assess whether adjustments are necessary when measuring, to ensure a smooth and tight installation. Do you have wooden or MDF skirting boards? Then we will gladly make the adjustments for you.

Does Aluwdoors assemble throughout the Netherlands?

Aluwdoors delivers throughout the Netherlands. As we have full in-house production, we guarantee high quality. We also arrange transport throughout the country. Our fitters will then come and assemble the aluminium doors at your home, ensuring quality from start to finish. Wherever you live in the country, we deliver and install our doors at any location.

What is the difference between a steel and aluminium pivot door?

Although many people use the term ‘steel door’, our doors are made of high-quality aluminium. This ensures more efficient production and lower weight than steel.

Steel doors are welded, while we build our aluminium doors with a self-developed click system. Aluminium is lighter, so there is less pressure on the hinge and floor with our doors.

In addition, aluminium is rustproof and easy to maintain. Our powder coating ensures a hard-wearing result with no visible welding seams. This makes the doors easy to keep clean in daily use and they last a long time. Curious about the possibilities for your home? What is a pivot door?

Why Aluwdoors

What is a pivot door

A steel pivot door rotates around a vertical axis, which is fixed to the floor and ceiling. This type of door has no frame, but is installed in a tightly finished opening. As a result, the door opens both ways. This ensures smooth movement and makes the door particularly suitable for modern interiors. Thanks to the clever pivot system, our doors are easy to operate and always close perfectly.
