Will you choose a single or double pivot door?

For smaller openings, a single steel pivot door is often sufficient. Does your house have wider openings, or are you not looking for a standard door? Then a double pivot door with or without side panels is a better choice. Both variants are equally functional and are, of course, made to measure.

What is a pivot door?

A steel pivot door rotates on a vertical axis, which is fixed to the floor and the ceiling. This type of door does not have a frame, but is fitted in a neatly finished opening. As a result, the door opens in both directions. This ensures a smooth movement and makes the door particularly suitable for modern interiors. Thanks to the clever pivot system, our doors are easy to operate and always close perfectly.

How much does a steel pivot door cost?

We produce only bespoke products at our own factory in Nunspeet. Prices therefore vary from project to project. The final cost depends mainly on the dimensions of the window frame, the arrangement of the profiles and the choice of specific handles.

The type of glass and the finish of the aluminium also play a part in the price calculation. Design your own door in the configurator and receive a quote immediately. Or request a no-obligation quote on.

What glass thickness do you use?

At Aluwdoors, we use the following for all interior doors standard laminated safety glass with a thickness of six millimetres. We deliberately choose laminated glass instead of toughened glass, because in the event of breakage, laminated glass does not shatter into thousands of pieces, but is held neatly together by the film between the glass panes. This makes the doors extra safe.

Choose from various glass options, such as clear glass, smoked glass or frosted glass, so that the door always matches the light and the desired privacy in your room.

Are pivot doors suitable for use in combination with underfloor heating?

A pivot door is in many cases suitable in combination with underfloor heating. After all, we only need to drill one centimetre deep into the floor. It depends on how the underfloor heating has been installed whether pivot doors are possible.

With milled-in underfloor heating, the underfloor heating is often situated a bit higher, which can sometimes make it difficult to install the pivot mechanism safely. Are you in doubt whether your floor is suitable? Our specialists are happy to take a look with you.

What colours of steel pivot doors are possible?

Your pivot door is supplied in any desired RAL colour, for example black, wit, gold, bronze and anthracite. In our in-house paint shop at Nunspeet, we apply a durable powder coating to the aluminium profiles. This ensures that the coating is not only smooth, but also very low-maintenance and able to withstand daily use.

Although deep black (RAL 9005) with a fine texture is the most popular choice, we are also seeing an increasing number of requests for bronze of gold shades, but also for white doors. Because we handle all the coating in-house, we ensure that the hardware and profiles get the exact same colour for a calm and sleek finish.

Are any modifications needed to the skirting boards or the doorway for a steel pivot door?

In some cases, minor adjustments to the skirting boards or the doorway are required to install a steel pivot door correctly. Because the door is mounted in the floor and the ceiling (without using a frame), the aperture must be completely finished.
Skirting boards that get in the way when opening the door are often shortened or adjusted. During the measuring process, our professionals will assess whether adjustments are necessary so that the installation goes smoothly and neatly. Do you have wooden or MDF skirting boards? Then we are happy to carry out the adjustments for you.

Via the button below, you can view our detailed drawings along with calculations regarding the cutting of skirting boards per door type.

Does Aluwdoors carry out installations throughout the Netherlands?

Aluwdoors delivers throughout the Netherlands. As we handle the entire production process in-house, we guarantee high quality. We also organise transport throughout the country. Our fitters will then come to your home to install the aluminium doors, so that we can guarantee quality from start to finish. Wherever you live in the country, we deliver and install our doors at any location.

What is the difference between a steel and aluminium pivot door?

Although many people use the term ‘steel door’, our doors are made of high-quality aluminium. This ensures more efficient production and a lower weight than with steel.

Steel doors are welded, whereas we construct our aluminium doors using a proprietary click system. Aluminium is lighter, meaning our doors place less pressure on the hinges and the floor.

In addition, aluminium is rustproof and easy to maintain. Our powder coating ensures a hard-wearing finish with no visible weld seams. This makes the doors easy to keep clean in daily use and they are long-lasting. Are you curious about the possibilities for your home?
