Doors for bathroom situations
Our hinged doors are suitable for wet rooms. So you can use the door as a partition for the shower. The aluminium and the six-millimetre laminated safety glass the doors and walls are made of can handle some moisture. However, it is important to carefully seal the wet side.

Which products are suitable for bathroom situations?
Sliding and hinged doors can easily be used in bathrooms and other wet rooms. It is important to carefully seal all connections all around. Completely seal gaps between the door profile, the wall and the floor.
Pivot doors are not suitable in shower situations, as their hinges can rust. Eventually, this can affect the whole door. Fixed walls are possible when the fixings and seals are properly positioned.
Additional sealing and mounting adjustments
Additional sealing is always needed in wet areas. Start by sealing the rubbers and glued parts so that water cannot get between the profile and the glass. Reinforce the joints of the door and the profiles with neutral silicone sealant.
Also seal corners and screw points neatly and let the sealant cure completely before you shower in the wet room again. Always place doors and walls level, also seal the fixing points all around and make sure that water can always drain away. This will keep the door or wall looking tidy for longer.
Ventilation and condensation prevention
Good ventilation prevents hot, humid air from sticking around and then condensing. This allows mould and bacteria to grow quickly, kit edges to discolour and rubbers to wear faster. Therefore, always ensure good air extraction, e.g. put a window in the tilted position. Otherwise, use a ventilation grille or mechanical extraction.
Doors in wet rooms often deliberately do not extend to the ceiling. The opening above the door allows moist air to flow away. Combined with regular airing, your wet room will stay fresher and the finish of your door or wall will last longer.
Glass choice for wet areas
For wet rooms, there are several suitable glass options, depending on the desired look and privacy. In smaller bathrooms, clear glass creates a more open atmosphere, while frosted glass offers more privacy without letting in too little light.
All standard panes of 6-millimetre safety glass for doors and 6-millimetre safety glass for walls are moisture-resistant and therefore suitable for installation in wet rooms. So you always choose a glass variant that suits both the function and atmosphere of the room.
Can a sliding door be installed directly in a shower?
A sliding door is only suitable at the entrance to wet rooms, not at wet areas. This is because the sliding door should not come into contact with too much water. For example, a sliding door is ideal when the entrance to a shower room is located in a narrow corridor. A hinged door can be used in wet areas.
