What is the delivery time?

Interior doors
From agreement to measurement: 3-6 weeks
From measuring to assembly: 4-7 weeks

Note: Have you opted for arched rods? Then production takes about 2 weeks longer because of the handwork involved.
Region-dependent: Our measurements are region-specific. In your area, we may be able to take measurements earlier or sometimes slightly later. Call or e-mail us to inquire directly.
Holiday periods: Allow for 3 weeks of construction holidays (summer) and 1 week of Christmas holidays.

Exterior doors
From agreement to measurement: around 2 weeks
From measuring to assembly: 9-12 weeks

Careful manufacturing with high-quality materials means it takes a little longer, but you get an exterior door that works perfectly.

Office walls
From agreement to measurement: around 2 weeks
From measuring to assembly: 5-7 weeks (depending on project size)

For larger projects with multiple rooms, the production time may be a bit longer.
We will give you an accurate schedule after the intake.

Can I assemble the door myself?

Of course, this is also possible. We can take care of the assembly for you, but would you rather do it yourself? No problem. We will send you clear assembly instructions.

Do you also have standard sizes?

No, we really do pure customisation. So you can make the door completely according to your wishes and you will always have a unique door.

Why do you work with aluminium?

We work with aluminium because it is better than steel. Aluminium is lighter and therefore friendlier to use. Furthermore, we can machine it with computer-controlled machines and so you get an extremely sleek door.

What are the dimensions of your profiles?

Our profiles have a front view of 30 mm and a side view of 40 mm, giving you a really slim and solid appearance. Would you like more information on dimensions? Then just ask!

Points of attention when measuring

  • Keep in mind the time after an order until measuring. We normally schedule around 4-6 weeks in advance here.
  • Measuring in can be done when the sparing sizes are final.

  • Any old window frame (with the exception of a rebated door) must also be removed and the recess completely finished.

  • This means the walls and ceilings are finished and the living floor (tile, wood, PVC, etc.) must also be in place.

  • No plastering or sanding is allowed after measuring.

  • If we are on site and we are unable to measure, we are unfortunately forced to charge a measurement fee.

  • There should always be someone present who knows the situation.

  • Any cancellation must be notified 7 working days in advance, otherwise we will unfortunately be obliged to charge the measurement costs.

  • When cancelling after a measurement, we will charge a cancellation fee of €249 (unless otherwise agreed here).

Installation considerations

We have a number of important points to bear in mind during assembly. If the assembly fails due to any of the situations below, we unfortunately cannot take responsibility for this and the warranty will also lapse.

  • During assembly, you are responsible for covering the floor. If it is not covered, we are not responsible for any damage to the floor.

  • Within a 5-metre radius around the assembly site and along the walkway, no breakable or valuable items, such as vases and paintings, are allowed.

  • No children are allowed to play in the rooms where we have to work (of course, this can always be discussed with the mechanics).

  • When mounting the doors or facades, you should ensure that there are no skirting boards at the location where the doors or facades will be mounted on the walls or ceiling. The situation may be different if expressly agreed otherwise.

  • If skirting boards have to be removed during installation, Aluwdoors cannot be held liable for any resulting damage. We cut away the skirting board, which means the wall still has to be finished neatly afterwards. This is not something Aluwdoors does.

  • Stone skirting boards unfortunately cannot be cut; they must be removed by a third party, e.g. a tiler.

  • If drilling into floors, walls or columns is not allowed, this must be reported in advance.

  • Any (glass) damage must be reported within 48 hours, otherwise we cannot take responsibility for it.

  • Would you like the (hinged) door mounted on the edge of a wall or similar? This is often possible, but we cannot always prevent a piece of plaster or wall from coming loose.

  • All panels may have a dimensional or straightness tolerance of 4 mm.

  • Any caulking and painting work will not be carried out by us, as will the repair of minor damage to plasterwork of wall or ceiling unavoidable during installation (in exceptional cases).

  • The seams at warping are not sealed by Aluwdoors.

  • For shower walls, Aluwdoors does not provide the sealing either.

  • For shower walls and outdoor enclosures, however, it is compulsory to have it sealed by a third party. If doors or walls are damaged because they have not been sealed, the warranty will be void. You can go to sales@aluwdoors.com request additional explanations around the purchase of a shower enclosure or outdoor enclosure.

  • Our fitters deliver broom clean. Our work does not include cleaning the walls we assemble (glass washing).

  • During assembly, we must have electricity, light and sanitary facilities.

  • The room in which to work should be wind and watertight. The room should also be lit, as mentioned above. If this is not possible, this should be reported in advance.

  • Any vertical transport (moving lift or crane) is not included in the quotation, unless otherwise agreed.

  • If we are on site and are unable to assemble, we are obliged to charge the assembly fee.

  • You must give 7 working days' notice of any cancellation, otherwise we will be obliged to charge the assembly fee.

Technical details for a fixed wall

  • The ceiling should be solid and screwable; this can be concrete, stone or wood.

  • With plasterboards, we recommend applying at least two times 18 mm plywood above the plasterboards. Otherwise, we cannot assemble the walls.

  • For steel beams, we recommend cladding them with two times 18 mm plywood.

  • For a suspended ceiling, a band grid is to be installed. Behind this band grid, 4 cm of wood should be installed.

  • We must be able to drill into the ceiling at least 4 cm; no pipes must run within this distance.

  • The floor should be solid and should not be able to subside.

  • The walls and ceilings should be finished as if there will be no fixed wall.

  • All panels may have a dimensional or straightness tolerance of 4 mm.

Technical details for a pivot door

  • The ceiling should be solid and screwable; this can be concrete, stone or wood.

  • With plasterboard, we recommend applying at least two times 18 mm plywood above the plasterboard, otherwise we will not be able to fit the doors.

  • The floor must be solid and must not be able to subside. We must be able to drill a minimum of 10 mm into the floor. Underfloor heating is then normally not a problem, because we only need to drill 10 mm deep. The living floor (tile or glued-down floor) also counts.

  • If you still have to infill or pour the underfloor heating, a 25 x 25 cm piece from the wall must be kept pipe-free at the pivot point. There should be no other pipes here either.

  • If the hinge point of the door has been shifted, more must be kept clear. Please contact us for this.

  • As soon as there is a side light, 25 x 25 cm must be kept clear from the side light. This is really about the hinge point. If in doubt, please call +31 (0)85 130 19 65.

  • Walls and ceilings should be finished as straight and level as possible. This way, you get the best end result and minimal gaps are created.

  • The walls and ceilings should be finished as if there will be no door.

  • Make sure there are no smoke detectors, lights and/or air intake points in the direction of rotation. There should also be no switches or sockets at the door location.

  • With skirting boards, we cut a piece out of the skirting boards. To avoid this, you cannot use a skirting board or an adhesive skirting board (flat on the floor). The cut edges must be finished by a painter; this is not something we do.

  • With any stone skirting boards, we are not responsible for them cracking due to poor gluing. The same applies to floor tiles.

  • All panels may have a dimensional or straightness tolerance of 4 mm.

Technical details for a sliding door

  • Would you like to have a sliding door slid into the wall? Then get in touch with us via sales@aluwdoors.com.
  • The ceiling should be solid and screwable; this can be concrete, stone or wood.

  • With plasterboard, we recommend applying at least two times 18 mm plywood above the plasterboard, otherwise we will not be able to fit the doors.

  • The floor must be solid.

  • Walls and ceilings should be finished as straight and level as possible. This way, you get the best end result and minimal gaps are created.

  • The walls and ceilings should be finished as if there will be no door.

  • Make sure there are no smoke detectors, lights and/or air intake points in the sliding direction. It is also important that there are no sockets or switches at the location of the door.

  • With skirting boards, we cut a piece out of the skirting boards. To avoid this, do not use a skirting board or an adhesive skirting board (flat on the floor). This can also be read further under the heading Assembly. The sawn sides need to be finished by a painter; this is not something we do.

  • With any stone skirting boards, we are not responsible for them cracking due to poor gluing. The same applies to floor tiles.

  • All panels may have a dimensional or straightness tolerance of 4 mm.

Technical details for a hinged door

  • The ceiling should be solid and screwable; this can be concrete, stone or wood.

  • With plasterboard, we recommend applying at least two times 18 mm plywood above the plasterboard, otherwise we will not be able to fit the doors.

  • The floor must be solid. With a double-hinged door, we need to drill 10 mm into the floor for the edge slider that is incorporated in the passive door. With a single-hinged door, this does not matter. Underfloor heating is normally not a problem because we only need to drill 10 mm deep. Here, the living floor (tile or glued floor) also counts.

  • Are you going to have underfloor heating installed and want a double-hinged door? Then feel free to contact us to take this into account right away.

  • With magnetic closure, it is always possible for the door to spring open due to air pressure differences.

Technical details for an upstand door

  • We fit the doors only in existing upstand frames.

  • We do not make hinge preparations in the frame; these must already be in place.

  • If a cylinder or toilet lock is chosen, it is good to know that with us it is always a PC72 lock concerns. Check if your old door and frame also have this, otherwise a lock will not be possible.

  • The hinges we fit are black (silk) or silver.

  • The rebate should be 15 mm, so that the door overlaps nicely. More is also allowed, but then from the side where the door does not turn, the profiles all around will be less or not visible.

  • All panels may have a dimensional or straightness tolerance of 4 mm.

  • We do not remove overhead lights. If necessary, you can do this yourself. Please note that the lintel must be at least 5 cm and that there is a chance that there will be holes in the frame if you remove the intermediate post. We won't do anything about this. Also make sure not to throw away the calf part!

What type of interior doors do you supply and are they always made to measure?

We supply aluminium pivot doors, sliding doors, hinged doors and overlapping doors. These doors are always made to measure in our own workshop in Nunspeet. Because we make everything to measure, we can realise a door that completely matches your wishes and interior style. We therefore do not have standard-sized doors. Every door is unique at Aluwdoors.

What colours are available for my door?

All our interior doors are powder coated in black as standard. (RAL-9005) In addition, we can coat your door in all RAL colours and some metallic colours such as bronze or gold.

How do I maintain my inner door from Aluwdoors?

Maintaining a steel door is easy and adds to its longevity and appearance. Clean the door regularly with a soft cloth and a mild detergent to remove dirt and fingerprints. Avoid abrasive agents that can damage the steel. Following these simple steps will keep your steel door in top condition. Do you have questions about maintenance or other issues? Contact contact us on for a consultation.

What is the approximate cost of an interior door?

The price of an aluminium door depends on several factors, such as the type of door, its dimensions and the chosen finish. On average, the cost of a single aluminium door is between €800.00 and €2500.00 euros. This amount varies depending on specific requirements, such as special glass or unique handles. For an exact quote, it is wise to contact us for personal advice so that we can design a door that perfectly fits your budget and needs.

Can I take an aluminium inner door if I have underfloor heating?

This is often possible! It does depend on the situation.

With our hinged and sliding doors, we don't need to drill into the floor anyway and it's no problem if you have underfloor heating.
With our pivot doors, we drill 1 cm deep into the floor. If you have a tiled floor, for example, this is simply possible. If your floor is thinner than 1 cm, please contact us. We will discuss the situation together!

How are internal doors fitted?

Our interior doors are installed by experienced fitters. They ensure accurate measurements and perfect fitting, so that your door functions smoothly and quietly. From then on, you can enjoy your new door!

Are steel doors suitable for homes where children live?

Yes, steel doors are safe and durable. Aluwdoors's aluminium doors are fitted with laminated safety glass as standard, which does not break easily. In this way, the chances of dangerous situations are small.

Are you interested in a custom-made steel door? Then get in touch with Aluwdoors for more information on our products and services. Our team of experts will be happy to help you choose and install the perfect steel door for your project.

Are tight interior doors soundproof?

Yes, our sleek interior doors are somewhat soundproof. Thanks to the use of high-quality materials and laminated glass, our doors offer some sound insulation, providing extra peace and privacy in your home. However, this does vary for each type of door.

Do you have colour samples?

Sure! You can request some free colour samples from us. For this, we would like to note your address details so that we can send the samples to you.

Can I install a Aluwdoors hinged door in my existing frame?

This is possible in some cases, you just need to have an obtuse window frame. We will then place our window frame in your existing window frame. We do need to check the situation if you want us to do this. So always contact us if you decide to do this.

What is a drop sill and when do I apply it?

A drop sill can be applied to our hinged doors. It is a kind of slipper that goes down when the door closes. This closes the gap between the door and the floor. This is often applied in offices where it is important for the room to be soundproof. In some cases, people choose to apply a sill against draughts, for example in the hall but this is not necessary.

What is the most commonly used glass thickness?

The most commonly used glass thickness and glass type for JesseTest partitions is 10-millimetre laminated glass. This thickness offers an excellent balance between strength and transparency, making it ideal for most office environments. Laminated glass is very strong, which is fine in office environments, where doors are widely used.

Can a glass office partition be combined with a sliding door?

Yes, a glass office wall can also be fitted with a sliding door. This is an excellent solution for rooms where space saving is important, as sliding doors do not take up space when opening and closing. This is why sliding doors are perfect for meeting rooms. Sliding doors are not only practical, they also give your office space a modern and elegant look. Good to know: a sliding door is less sound-absorbing than an office wall that does not have a sliding door.

How do I maintain my office wall?

Maintaining a glass office wall is easy and helps keep it in optimal condition. Regular cleaning with a glass cleaner and a soft cloth will keep the glass clear and free of stains. Avoid abrasives that can cause scratches. For the metal frame, you can use a mild cleaner and a soft cloth.
