The sound attenuation of Aluwdoors doors
Soundproofing is important in some situations. This is the case, for example, when working from home or in meeting rooms. Our aluminium doors with 6-millimetre laminated safety glass offer some soundproofing. However, they are not intended as a full-fledged soundproofing solution.

What determines the sound attenuation of a door or wall?
How much sound attenuation you experience depends on the choice of glass, the type of door (pivot door, hinged door or sliding door) and the seal of the door in the doorway and near the floor.
When choosing glass, the thicker the glass, the better the damping. A hinged door in a frame usually fits better than, for example, pivot doors without a frame. Also pay attention to the sealing of a door. Continuous rubbers in a frame or the door opening ensure that less sound escapes.
This is even more true for a trap door at the bottom. Together, these elements create a quieter space.
Make the right glass choices for optimum noise reduction
Within our range, we use one type of glass for most products: 6-millimetre laminated safety glass. You have a choice of glass options, such as smoked glass, bronze-coloured glass or frosted glass. These create a special atmosphere. Of course, matt glass also provides more privacy. All our types of glass contribute slightly to noise reduction.

Product types with the best noise reduction
If you have the option of choosing a door type, it also matters when it comes to sound attenuation. For the best sound attenuation, choose a hinged door in a fully rebated frame that fits perfectly. For meeting rooms, our JesseTest walls with acoustic glass high.
Practical tips for maximum noise reduction
You get better sound attenuation especially if you make the right choices when it comes to glass, seals and connections. In noise-sensitive rooms, an office partition with acoustic glass and well-fitting seals works best. Seal gaps with rubbers around the door and a sill at the bottom. Make sure walls and ceilings are flat so that profiles fit tightly everywhere. Want to know what is best in your situation? Visit contact us on for targeted advice.
