What is veneer?
What is veneer? Veneer is a thin layer of real wood that is cut with great precision. This layer is then applied to a stable substrate, such as mdf, aluminium or plywood. This gives your door the appearance of solid wood but with the advantages of board material.
This material is much less sensitive to fluctuations in temperature and humidity than solid wood. As a result, the door always retains its shape and does not warp, while the fine wood grain of the veneer ensures a calm and natural look. This makes your door indistinguishable from real solid wood.

Veneer doors: Everything you need to know
Veneer doors bring the warmth of wood into your home, while benefiting from the sturdiness and ease of maintenance of aluminium. They are lighter than traditional doors and still have a natural look. Thanks to the wood veneer finish, you can see and feel the charm of wood, while at the same time the door is durable and easy to maintain. We show you exactly what veneer doors are, how they are made and in which rooms they look best.
These are veneer doors
A veneer door from Aluwdoors is a aluminium door which is finished on the outside with a layer of wood veneer. This is a thin layer of real oak, carefully applied to the aluminium core.
Benefit from the sturdiness, durability and low maintenance of aluminium, with the cosy look of wood. So you get a door that is lightweight and practical. Yet you retain the natural feel of wood.

Wood veneer as basis
The veneer layer is precisely glued to the aluminium core of the door. This creates a strong connection. The natural wood grain remains clearly visible. The aluminium base ensures a sturdy door with a long lifespan, which is easy to assemble.
Difference between veneer and solid wood
Solid wood doors consist entirely of wood and are therefore often heavier in weight and more sensitive to fluctuations in temperature and humidity than veneer doors.
These aluminium-based doors do not have that disadvantage: the aluminium core provides a stable base, while the wood veneer provides the natural look. This gives your door the same warm look, but with more ease of use ánd less maintenance is required. Only occasional cleaning with water and a mild detergent is sufficient.
Properties of veneer doors
What sets our veneer doors apart is that they are fully custom-made. In addition, veneer doors are low-maintenance. The surface is neatly finished, which means that stains or discolouration are not so easily seen. Furthermore, the doors last a long time and are suitable for both classic and modern interiors.

Applications of veneer doors
Veneer doors are suitable for doorways of all sizes. The aluminium core is sturdy enough to support larger areas of glass or veneer. The doors not only look beautiful, but they are also suitable for all rooms in your home.
You have a lot of freedom when designing veneer doors, more so than with solid wood doors or our aluminium doors. The veneer can be supplied in two shades of brown: Neutral and Chocolate.
