What is a sliding door between walls or a closet?

A sliding door system for between walls or for a cupboard carries the door entirely at the top: the runners run in a rail in the ceiling, for which four centimetres are drilled deep. We glue the guide to the floor.

The result is a barrier-free door that is easy to keep clean. This is nice if you use underfloor heating, which can always be perfectly combined with a sliding door.

However, it is important to have a sturdy upper structure installed. This ensures that the construction can bear the weight of the door. Optionally extend the system with a soft-close system, so that the sliding door between walls or a cabinet closes quietly.

Technical construction and operation

A sliding door rail can be mounted on the ceiling or on the wall. It is important that there is a solid screw support of at least 3 to 4 cm. The anchorage is firmly in concrete, in a wooden beam or cove or a support slat under a plasterboard.

Possible variants and additional options

With our customisation, you choose exactly what suits your space. For example, a single sliding door works well for narrow passages or cupboards around 70 to 110 centimetres wide. For wider passages, there can be steel doors up to 150 centimetres wide. Side panels can also be used. So there is always a suitable solution. Add fixed side panels if required, or recessed handles.

A sliding door, running tightly along the wall, saves space and connects two walls with an opening between them. A barrier-free door makes cleaning easier. Maintenance and service life

The six-millimetre-thick safety glass and aluminium profiles of our doors are virtually maintenance-free: regular cleaning is enough. Use lukewarm water with a mild detergent and a soft sponge or microfibre cloth.
